Sylvester Carey passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on September 3, 2026. Survivors include his children: Porsha Tuniors (Bennie, Sr.), Lamont Franklin, Joshua (Aeisha), and Sylvetta Carey; grandchildren: Bennie, Jr. and Benxavior Tuniors; Joshua, Jr., Brandon Michael, Ayana, Demonti and Jy Carey; Markie, Jr. and Kelci Burris; siblings: Joyce Brice, Barbara McCaleb (Eddie), Jackie Carey, Sandra Rogers (Albert), Lillie Mae Jordan, Alfred (Christine) and Johnny Beauchamp; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sabrina Carey; son, Sylvester Stalling; parents, Mable and Louis Carey; and siblings, Wallace P. and Kelvin Carey, Sr., Gerodene Davis, and Wanda Birks; nephews, Montrell and Elvin Carey; and Henry Leon Brice.
